About The Position

The Counselor Assistant works at the Men's Stabilization/Rehabilitation Residence located at 68 Quaker Rd, Queensbury, NY 12804. This position is responsible for monitoring and observing the physical, mental, and emotional status of admitted clients during both day and night shifts. The role involves completing rounds, logging information, and ensuring program compliance, health, safety, and security within the residence.

Requirements

• Valid New York State driver license.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certified.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and observing the physical, mental, and emotional status of admitted clients day or night, including completing rounds and logging information.
• Daily and nightly monitoring and reporting on all Residential client rooms, kitchen, and common areas for program compliance, health, safety, and security.
• Reporting progress on the residence at every shift change.
• Providing assistance to residents, including motivation, support, and encouragement for client goals.
• Logging telephone calls, personal visits, and significant events or information during the shift into the Residential logbook.
• Assuming responsibility for managing and reporting incidents.
• Performing urine drug screens as needed.
• Making calls to local ambulance service, fire department, or police as needed.
