About The Position
Helio Health, a leading behavioral healthcare provider in Central NY, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Counselor Aide to join their team. This role is crucial in supporting patients with mental health issues and chemical addictions, contributing to their treatment success and offering long-term career growth. This is a full-time position working overnight shifts.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License, based on service settings.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service and/or human services experience preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Direct Support Professionals (DSP) are welcome to apply!
Responsibilities
- Assists with counseling responsibilities including screening, intake, orientation, referral, counseling, crisis response, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping, and consultation with other professionals.
- Participates in program administrative and clinical committees as assigned.
- Represents the agency to the community.
- Performs quality assurance activities.
- Displays knowledge of addiction/recovery and/or behavioral health self-help group processes and principles of counseling.
