About The Position

This position provides support, therapy, and case management services to adolescents experiencing substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health concerns, and other behavioral health challenges. The primary goal is to assess patient needs, develop individualized treatment plans, facilitate individual and group counseling services, engage family support, and promote long-term recovery, healthy development, and positive life outcomes.

Requirements

  • Licensed Masters Addictions Counselor (LMAC)
  • One year addiction counseling experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at time stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with youth, families, schools, and community partners.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders, adolescent development, co-occurring mental health conditions, and evidence-based treatment modalities
  • Crisis intervention methods and de-escalation techniques
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate support
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and youth-centered treatment approaches

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC)
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Two years of addiction counseling experience
  • Experiencing working with adolescents and families
  • National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors Certification

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients, review records, and confer with other professionals to evaluate patient needs and treatment recommendations.
  • Formulate treatment plans for the treatment and rehabilitation of adolescent patients.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups focused on prevention of substance use, recovery, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and life skills development.
  • Engage parents, guardians, and family members in the treatment process and provide education regarding substance use, recovery, and family support strategies.
  • Collaborate with schools, juvenile justice agencies, child welfare organizations, healthcare providers, and other community partners as appropriate.
  • Participate in utilization review activities as required.
  • Maintain contact on a regular basis with referral sources and community stakeholders.
  • Develop discharge and transition plans and complete discharge summaries.
  • Refer patients and families to additional support services and community resources as needed.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical need.
  • Prepare and maintain reports, treatment documentation, and case histories in accordance with organization and regulatory requirements.
  • Formulate and conduct prevention and early intervention programs related to substance use and behavioral health.
  • Understand and implement all TAP 21 Addiction Counseling Competencies.
  • Maintain patient files and ensure readiness for audits and site visits.
  • Comply with all CKF policies and procedures and related clinical licensure standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
