About The Position
South Carolina Connections Academy (SCCA) is a tuition-free, K–12 online public school. The school was launched in 2008–09 under contract to the South Carolina Connections Academy Charter School. SCCA is South Carolina’s very first virtual charter school, authorized by the Erskine Charter School District. The school serves students in grades K–12 from anywhere in South Carolina. South Carolina Connections Academy strives to create an inclusive environment that welcomes and values the diversity of the people we serve. Requirements
- Experience working with school age students
- Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2-step authentication
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- School Counseling Master’s Degree preferred
- South Carolina High School Counseling experience
- Student Record Services: Parchment, PowerSchool
- South Carolina Regulations: Uniform Grading Policy and Activity Coding System
- South Carolina Colleges and Scholarships, NCAA
- Global Career Development Facilitator certification
Responsibilities
- Answer Counseling Department phones and webmails
- Support Counseling Department projects and activities
- Input High School Transcripts, which includes course entry for new enrolling students, dual enrolled students, and summer school students
- Complete course scheduling for new enrolling high school students
- Enter data into our online student information system
- Generate reports and fulfill Transcript requests
- Support College and Career efforts with student and family outreach
- Assist Parents, Students, and School Staff
- Other duties as assigned
