About The Position

The Counseling Clerk performs clerical functions for the counseling center. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, HiSET, or G.E.D
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
  • Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and screen phone calls for the counselors.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Schedule college recruiter visits and coordinate Upward Bound and Talent Search visits.
  • Assist students with scheduling and course code sheets.
  • Record student program changes.
  • Prepare reports such as student grade reports, cumulative reports, and senior destination.
  • Receive payments for PSAT registration.
  • Assist students with college teaching, financial aid, and general college information.
  • Assist registrar with entering grades in the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Other duties, as assigned.
