About The Position

Walmart is seeking a dynamic, business-forward, and collaborative attorney to serve as Counsel – Marketplace Payments within the Financial Services Legal team. Walmart Marketplace is a high-growth, strategic eCommerce business that enables third-party sellers to seamlessly reach Walmart’s massive global customer base and dramatically expand assortment while delivering a best-in-class shopping experience. This role will support the development and expansion of Marketplace financial services and payments capabilities, including sales-based financing (merchant cash advances), third-party financing programs, billing and credit risk product development, secured transactions, international payments processing, and a broad range of other payment-related initiatives. The role will be located at our Home Office in Bentonville, AR, or our offices in Sunnyvale, CA or San Bruno, CA. The position requires strong regulatory experience, excellent judgment, a self-starting attitude, and the ability to partner effectively with product, engineering, compliance, finance, operations, and leadership teams. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

Law degree from an accredited law school and 4 years’ experience in law.
License to practice law in at least one state.
Experience providing legal counsel on complex business initiatives, compliance, and risk management.
Ability to translate legal analysis into practical recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated capability managing litigation or regulatory matters, including outside counsel oversight.
Strong drafting and negotiation skills across contracts, governance documents, and disclosures.
Proven people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and talent development.
