About The Position

As (USA) Counsel, you will provide strategic legal guidance to support business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves managing risks, advising on corporate governance, and collaborating with internal teams and external counsel to resolve legal matters effectively. You will oversee legal documentation, conduct research, and support business transactions, fostering strong partnerships across functions. The position requires leadership in developing legal strategies, promoting ethical standards, and driving continuous improvement to protect the company’s interests and advance its operational goals. The team supports global privacy, data protection, and technology matters within a dynamic retail environment. Collaborating closely with senior attorneys and cross-functional partners across product, engineering, marketing, security, and international business units, the team provides legal guidance to ensure compliance and manage risks. It focuses on implementing policies, conducting research, drafting legal documents, and offering day-to-day advisory services. The team emphasizes strong corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management while fostering collaboration and leadership across business functions to support the company’s strategic objectives and operational success.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance within complex business environments.
  • Strong ability to provide clear legal counsel and guidance to business partners, enabling informed decision-making aligned with company objectives.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally to develop and implement legal strategies that support business initiatives and ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing legal risks, supervising outside counsel, and conducting thorough legal research and investigations.
  • Effective leadership capabilities in mentoring and developing associates while fostering a high-performing, ethical, and accountable team culture.
  • Law degree from an accredited law school and 4 years’ experience in law.
  • License to practice law in at least one state.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to business partners, ensuring informed decision-making aligned with company objectives.

  • Support business transactions by coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring legal compliance.
