Counsel, Infrastructure

FluidstackAustin, TX
$300,000 - $400,000

About The Position

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI, aiming to deliver 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. This involves rethinking every layer of the stack, from acquiring power and designing data centers to operating them. The company values extreme ownership, velocity, first principles thinking, and a passion for the problem space. The legal team plays a crucial role in enabling this rapid buildout by establishing the legal and compliance function from scratch, structuring complex deals in weeks, and managing legal risks from first principles. The team operates with a lean structure, owning everything and inventing solutions for novel business structures.

Requirements

  • Hold an active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction and can meet admission requirements where you will practice.
  • Have autonomously structured, drafted, and negotiated complex commercial agreements as lead attorney, against sophisticated counterparties, in areas that map directly to data center development: supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, technology transactions, or similar.
  • Have personally made sound, commercially pragmatic calls in ambiguous, high-stakes situations, and colleagues can point to deals where your judgment changed the outcome.
  • Have overseen outside counsel across multiple disciplines and held them to a rigorous bar on scope, quality, and spend.
  • Write and speak clearly enough to turn a dense legal issue into a decision and a next step for an executive or a counterparty.

  • Using AI to improve legal work and efficiency.
  • In-house experience at a data center developer or cloud company.
