About The Position

LEGOLAND New York Resort Seeks a Keeper of the Wardrobe Realm for the role of Costume Lead. This is a full-time position where the individual will be responsible for forging the garments of heroes, villains, and magical beings, bringing stories to life through the sacred art of costume creation. This role involves more than just tailoring; it's about crafting the visual identity of characters within the LEGOLAND New York Resort.

Requirements

• Sewing, tailoring, stitching, and costume creation skills.
• Proficiency in hand stitching and industrial sewing machines.
• Knowledge of textiles and fabric care.
• Ability to read and alter patterns.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to remain calm in fast-paced environments.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to manage independent quests with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Measure Model Citizens to ensure every uniform fits properly.
• Repair costumes after use.
• Construct magnificent garments from patterns, sketches, and creative input.
• Maintain the Costume Bible and inventory archives.
• Organize the Wardrobe Fortress.
• Operate garment machinery including steamers, irons, washers, and dryers.
• Create appliqués using a Circuit Machine.
• Act as a Costumer during live show emergencies.
• Assist performers before shows with swift repairs.
• Follow safety rituals and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Carry items weighing up to 35 pounds.
