About The Position

Eastern Screw Company is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Costing Specialist to turn technical prints and specifications into accurate, competitive quotes for manufactured products. The role involves learning the company's production processes, machines, and capabilities, then applying that knowledge to product costing and quoting. The Costing Specialist also serves as a customer contact, responds to customer needs, and provides general office administrative support. The position reports to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of customer support experience involving costing or quoting in manufacturing.
• Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read basic prints, learn industry specifications, and research standards.
• Strong math skills, including decimal conversions.
• Ability to translate technical information into accurate costs.
• Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and computers generally.
• Close attention to detail.
• Strong phone skills and a positive, professional manner.
• Ability to multitask, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
• Ability and commitment to learn a complex quoting process.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Learn the manufacturing operation, including production processes, machines, and capabilities.
• Use manufacturing knowledge to cost and quote manufactured products.
• Read prints, review industry specifications, and research standards to prepare accurate, competitive quotes.
• Build lasting customer relationships and provide support and solutions in line with customer service policies.
• Manage customer questions, orders, and complaints professionally and patiently.
• Identify and assess customer requirements to help ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide general office administration support.
• Apply knowledge of ISO 9001 to support consistent, compliant work.
