About The Position

The Costing Analyst oversees the development and management of product costs, including material cost, conversion cost, manufacturing equipment requirements, labor requirements, cycle times, and tooling and capital requirements for new business or changes to current business. Adient is a global leader in automotive seating, operating approximately 200 manufacturing/assembly plants worldwide and producing seating for all major OEMs. The company's expertise covers the entire automotive seat-making process, from research and design to engineering and manufacturing.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Operations, or Engineering.
1-3 years of experience in Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Purchasing within the Automotive Industry.
Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Self-motivated and eager to learn.
Interest in understanding both the financial and technical side of operations and manufacturing.
Demonstrated experience as a value-added team member.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work cross-functionally across the organization.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Business Administration.
Intern experience within the Automotive Industry.
Foreign language skills.

Responsibilities

Develop quotations for submission to OEM customers through business units.
Develop risks/opportunities with each quote.
Review complex bill of materials for reasonableness.
Review manufacturing assumptions for reasonableness.
Effectively communicate cost data to the organization.
Develop rates for manufacturing plants.
Analyze cost variance and financial metrics.
Support purchasing in negotiating prices with suppliers and provide cost targets for purchased components.
Provide product cost reduction estimates.
Actively contribute to departmental initiatives/process improvements.
Work on special projects as needed.
