About The Position

The primary function is daily administration, under direction, for manufacturing/inventory control and costing, time scheduling, and production efficiencies. This role will also implement solid process management functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the facility operations relating to labor, material, and efficiencies. Additionally responsible for allocating inventory and managing administering labor hours and processes to support and to maximize profitability.

Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or GED equivalent, three years of relevant experience, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Strong math aptitude and analytical skills; demonstrated process auditing experience strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of PC environment and MS Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to record and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Familiarity with Infor M3 ERP system is helpful, although not necessary.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Familiarity with general office procedures.
  • General knowledge of fabricated sheet metal products and pricing desired.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer and branch needs.
  • Ability to verify and calculate figures such as cost, commissions, credit, rebate and profit, understand and interpret financial data and reports and balance sheets.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze customer, branch and employee problems and to recommend the proper course of action.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
  • Strong computer skills including intermediate level proficiency with the ability to master new computer applications quickly. This includes business software applications and the Microsoft software packages.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee facility time and labor hours reconciliation on a daily/weekly basis including adjustments for production variances.
  • Track and record time associated with Resolution 78 jobs; segregate each by contract number and employee daily. Maintain spreadsheet for time records to ensure proper information is kept, recorded and updated prior to forwarding to company payroll department for processing.
  • Implements and administers the costing process. Timely creates fabrication work-orders, accounts for labor/materials/miscellaneous items on job packets. Administers cost rolling processes for each good and job packet and adds items to appropriate warehouses for transfers.
  • Ensure the accuracy of fabrication job packets for time, dollars, and pounds. Issue correct material and receive proper quantities into inventory.
  • Responsible for issuing inventory to shop floor-stock and accounting for all floor-stock counts; this will require daily interaction with production coordinators and Shop Superintendent. Correct and monitor inventory discrepancies on a daily/weekly basis. Research and resolves inventory discrepancies to uncover source and basis for discrepancies and will implement processes to minimize reoccurrence.
  • Minimizes non-productive inventory by promptly addressing overstock, slow-moving and dead items.
  • Drive production efficiencies by monitoring and effectively communicating information related to material and labor dollars, and timeliness. Produce efficiencies report weekly.
  • Participate in improving operations by offering potential alternatives to existing methods.
  • Participates in product meetings, seminars and training schools to enhance and maintain professional and product knowledge.
