About The Position

Family-owned and operated telecommunications company seeking a Costing Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, tracking, and managing project costs related to broadband and telecommunications infrastructure deployments. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate cost allocation, supporting pricing and bidding strategies, and providing financial insights that drive operational efficiency and profitability. Familiarity with RUS and ARPA-funded projects is a plus.

Requirements

2–5+ years of experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or financial analysis
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, job costing, and variance analysis
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, financial modeling, and data analysis
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Experience in telecommunications, broadband deployment, construction, or infrastructure accounting

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain cost accounting systems, documentation, and financial records for telecommunications projects
Analyze project costs, including labor, materials, contractor expenses, and overhead allocations
Develop standard costs and perform variance analysis between actual and budgeted project costs
Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate cost allocation for telecom infrastructure assets
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for broadband and network deployment projects
Provide detailed cost data to support pricing strategies, grant-funded project reporting, and bid submissions
Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements
Reconcile cost accounts with the general ledger and ensure financial accuracy
Generate detailed cost and financial reports for management review
Collaborate with project managers, engineering, procurement, and finance teams
Support compliance reporting for federally funded projects, including RUS and ARPA initiatives
