About The Position

The D.A. Collins Family of Companies has brought safety, quality and productivity to industrial, infrastructure, highway, and bridge construction for over 75 years. We are seeking a reliable individual for a position as a Cost Manager to join a dedicated and hard-working team in our Wilton, NY Headquarters. The Cost Manager is responsible for leading the cost engineering function, ensuring accurate project financial reporting, consistent forecasting practices, and strong cost controls execution across all projects. This role oversees the Cost Engineer I–III team while maintaining direct involvement in project financial oversight, particularly on large, complex, or high-risk projects. Working closely with project teams and leadership, the Cost Manager provides visibility into project financial performance, supports decision-making, and drives consistency and improvement in cost controls processes. Upon acceptance of offer, we will coordinate new hire paperwork and pre-employment substance abuse screening (Drug Free Employer).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, accounting, or related field required
7+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or construction financial management
Demonstrated experience leading cost engineering or project controls staff
Strong understanding of cost tracking, forecasting, and project financial management
Experience supporting large, complex construction projects
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly
Proficiency in construction management and financial software systems

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Cost Engineer I–III team, including workload coordination, performance oversight, and professional development
Review and validate project cost reports and revenue projections for accuracy and consistency
Oversee cost controls execution across all active projects
Lead or support cost engineering efforts on large, complex, or high-risk projects
Develop, review, and challenge project cost and revenue forecasts
Identify financial risks, trends, and opportunities across the project portfolio
Ensure alignment between cost, quantities, production, and schedule
Support and participate in project and executive-level financial review meetings
Maintain and oversee project cost records, including contracts, change orders, budget transfers, and cost adjustments
Ensure timely and accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting
Establish and enforce standard processes for cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting
Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency and consistency in cost controls workflows
Collaborate with estimating, accounting, and operations to ensure alignment across project financial functions
Support development and implementation of reporting tools, dashboards, and system improvements
Mentor and develop Cost Engineer team members, promoting consistency and continuous improvement
