About The Position

Join our team as a Cost Estimator, where you’ll be at the heart of crafting winning bids for our Specialties projects! In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for calculating product costs and identifying key details essential to our bids. You’ll be immersed in project documents and specifications, analyzing each aspect to determine product quantities, pricing, and ensuring that every project is compliant and efficient. With your expertise, you’ll play a vital role in shaping bids that meet strict deadlines and maximize our potential to win. This is more than just a numbers role! You’ll collaborate closely with co-workers, sales teams, vendors, and distributors to develop strategic bids, communicate effectively on project details, and creatively problem-solve any overlaps or discrepancies in project documents. Your efforts will be integral to creating proposals that stand out in the market.

Requirements

A bachelor’s or associate degree, or equivalent experience with an understanding of estimating, bidding, and project management.
Strong analytical skills to interpret technical documents and calculate complex costs.
Competence in programs like Word, Excel, and the ability to learn company-specific software.
Comfort with concepts like discounts, commissions, percentages, and practical problem-solving skills.
Adept at interpreting and adapting to non-standardized scenarios
Managing time well
Ensuring that every bid aligns with both customer needs and company goals.
