About The Position
KCI is seeking a motivated student for a Cost Estimating Engineering Internship to join our team in Duluth, GA for Summer 2027. This position offers hands-on experience supporting the preparation of cost estimates for a variety of projects, working alongside experienced estimators. Summer interns will work a 40-hour week, with at least 10 weeks of work required during the period from mid-May to the end of August. Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor, and are required to attend planned activities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
- Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Responsibilities
- Assist in developing quantity take-offs and preliminary cost estimates for engineering and construction projects
- Support the review and analysis of drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed estimates
- Help maintain cost databases, historical project information, and benchmarking data
- Participate in bid preparation, proposal development, and subcontractor/vendor outreach
- Assist in preparing project cost reports, summaries, and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with team members to track project budgets and identify potential cost savings
- Gain exposure to estimating tools, software, and methodologies used in the industry
