About The Position

We are seeking a Cost Controls Specialist to support a large capital generator outage project. This role will partner closely with Project Managers and Project Controls teams to manage financial, contractual, and accounting processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience supporting capital projects with cost controls and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accruals, invoices, and contract tracking
Hands-on experience with SAP (financial/accounting transactions preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerApps)
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting generator outage or large capital projects
Knowledge of asset retirement and unitization processes
Enterprise-level SAP experience

Responsibilities

Support project procurement by creating and tracking Purchase Orders (POs)
Process and maintain Change Orders (COs)
Develop and maintain monthly cost forecasts
Track project budgets, invoices, accruals, and financial performance
Monitor contract milestones and funding levels
Assist with project closeout activities, including asset unitization and retirement
Support capital budget development and Project Request Forms (PRFs)
Assist with audit documentation and financial reporting
Generate SAP cost reports and analyze forecast vs. actual spending
Recommend process improvements and support project controls activities
