About The Position

The Cost Control Specialist is responsible for estimating costs for new products, tracking current product costs, collecting cost reimbursements, and leading internal cost reduction activities. This role involves submitting cost management data to management for decision-making and informing customers of cost data for benefit recovery. The specialist will also manage cost system control tools, including updating ERP system standard costs, maintaining estimation costs for new products, and basic unit costs. Additionally, the role requires leading and organizing cost reduction activities, setting cost targets, promoting reduction activities, and working with the design group for VA ideas. The specialist will also prepare and submit quotations for service parts, prototype parts, and other special requests, train other ADI members about the cost control system, and prepare USMCA calculations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting, VA/VE activities.
  • Ability to communicate to internal and external contacts, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to give formal presentations.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Submit the cost management data to management for decision-making and to inform our customer of the cost data to ask for benefit recovery.
  • Calculate estimated cost data for new products against the target.
  • Track reimbursement information for new products.
  • Summarize cost impact information for Engineering Change Information (ECI’s).
  • Summarize and track Request Sheet for Production Method of Examination (RSPME).
  • Update the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system standard costs as needed (route/structure).
  • Maintain the estimation cost for new products.
  • Maintain basic unit costs following operation budget control (accuracy etc.).
  • Set cost targets and promote the reduction activities.
  • Work with the design group to achieve VA ideas.
  • Prepare and submit quotations for service parts, prototype parts, and other special requests.
  • Train other ADI members about the cost control system.
  • Prepare USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement) calculation.
