About The Position

WB Melback Corporation is seeking a Cost Control Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for supporting project financial management through cost tracking, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. The specialist will ensure project costs are accurately monitored and reported, assisting project managers in maintaining budgets, identifying variances, and improving cost efficiency across industrial construction projects.

Requirements

Experience in cost control, project controls, accounting, or construction finance
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
Ability to work with large data sets and maintain high attention to detail
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial project environment

Nice To Haves

Experience in construction, mining, or industrial project environments
Experience with SAP, ERP systems, or project cost tracking software
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field
Bilingual (English/French)

Responsibilities

Monitor and track project costs, commitments, and expenditures
Assist in the development, maintenance, and tracking of project budgets
Prepare cost forecasts and update project financial projections
Generate regular cost reports, variance analyses, and project financial summaries
Review purchase orders, invoices, and subcontractor costs for accuracy
Maintain accurate cost records and project financial data
Work closely with project managers, site teams, and accounting departments
Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and reporting standards
Identify cost discrepancies and support corrective actions
