About The Position

OHLA USA is seeking a Cost Control Engineer to support our high-profile infrastructure project. This role is critical in managing project cost controls, forecasting, and financial performance on complex heavy civil and marine construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, experience in infrastructure or marine construction, and the ability to collaborate across project teams to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or construction finance
  • Experience in heavy civil, transportation, marine, or infrastructure projects strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced level required)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-driven environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cost control systems (e.g., Primavera P6, HCSS, Procore) is a plus
  • Experience with construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, and bid preparation
  • Experience working on marine/port, bridge, or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with FDOT or similar public agency projects
  • Understanding of earned value management (EVM) principles

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
  • Track and analyze actual costs vs. planned budgets, identifying variances and risks
  • Support monthly cost reporting, including earned value analysis and projections
  • Coordinate with field engineers and superintendents to validate quantity measurements and production rates
  • Review and validate subcontractor pay applications, change orders, and invoices
  • Assist in change management processes, including pricing and cost impact analysis
  • Support estimating efforts including quantity takeoffs, bid pricing, and cost benchmarking for change orders and potential scope changes.
  • Track, verify and maintain accurate cost tracking systems and documentation
  • Participate in project meetings to provide financial insights and updates
  • Support procurement and contract administration as needed
