You are an experienced Cost Estimator / Cost Management Consultant with more than 5 years of experience, looking for the next step in your career, or currently working in a similar role within a comparable environment and motivated to join a growing dynamic team. The ideal candidate is self-driven, highly motivated, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. In this high-impact role, you will provide leadership and clear direction while actively embracing and promoting Turner & Townsend’s mission, values, and vision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating across all phases of a project, as well as experience in cost management or project controls, preferably within the construction industry.
  • University degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in cost estimating tools and software.
  • Good understanding of contract administration, procurement, and purchasing processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Fluent in French, both spoken and written.
  • Strong English communication skills are required to collaborate with teams and stakeholders located outside of Quebec.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial tracking/reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the continuous improvement of cost management processes and tools.

  • MEP specialization is an asset.
  • Membership in a relevant professional organization is considered an asset (e.g., CIQS, RICS, or AEECQ).
  • Knowledge of CCDC or FIDIC contract forms is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of project cost estimates from the conceptual phase through execution (MEP specialization is an asset).
  • Analyze received bids and proposals to ensure clients achieve the best value for money.
  • Apply sound negotiation techniques and strategies.
  • Participate in value engineering discussions to identify the most effective solutions for clients.
  • Provide advice on life-cycle costing and sustainability considerations.
  • Conduct benchmarking analyses to validate costs and establish targets for major projects.
  • Support project budget monitoring and cost control activities.
  • Perform financial analyses and monitor cost variances.
  • Prepare, review, and administer tenders, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Assist with the review and processing of contractor and supplier payments.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective cost and schedule management.
  • Prepare financial and progress reports for clients and stakeholders.
  • Participate in the analysis of financial and contractual risks associated with projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost management processes, controls, tools, and best practices.
  • Play a leading role in client interactions and coordination with other consultants throughout all phases of the project.
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure client objectives are effectively managed and achieved.
