As an Intern Cost and Data Analyst, you will join the Resource Forecasting and Estimating team in Mississauga and contribute to data-driven decision-making through cost analysis, reporting, and resource planning activities. This opportunity offers hands-on exposure to business analytics, cost estimating, and project controls within a dynamic engineering environment.
Requirements
- Ability to work effectively with large volumes of numerical data and perform detailed analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Aptitude for data analysis, reporting, and problem-solving
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Engineering, Business, Economics, or Mathematics program
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency with Power BI is an asset
Responsibilities
- Support project staff in entering and maintaining resource demand data within resource management systems
- Prepare reports on staff availability and coordinate with Technical and Functional Managers to verify and update information
- Assist with the preparation of weekly reports using Excel and Power BI
- Analyze resource demand data to identify variances and support reporting on key trends and drivers
- Support cost analysts in the preparation of cost estimates and cost input data for projects and bids
- Prepare cost models for low-complexity and low-value bids
- Assist Business Analysts, Cost Analysts, and Management with ad hoc reporting and data analysis activities
