About The Position

The Company B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. Position Cost Analyst, Nunavut Location and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Manager, Finance, this position will be based in Edmonton, AB. This role will require regular travel to the project site in Nunavut up to 20%.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years' experience in cost analysis, financial planning, or cost control, preferably within mining, heavy industry, oil & gas, or construction.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or progression in the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and hands-on experience with ERP Systems (e.g. SAP).
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate cost variances and identify root causes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Independently monitor and analyze key cost drivers across mining, processing, maintenance, and support functions, including drilling, blasting, hauling, fuel, labour, consumables, and equipment utilization, to ensure accurate and timely cost visibility.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis comparing actual costs against budgets, forecasts, and unit cost metrics, investigating root causes and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Support site budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes, contributing to life-of-mine (LOM) cost models, All-In Sustaining Cost (AISC) analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Ensure accurate cost capture, allocation, and reconciliation within ERP systems (e.g., SAP), including cost centres, WBS elements, assets, commitments, and accruals, while supporting month-end close activities.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise cost reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for site leadership and corporate stakeholders, translating complex operational data into decision-ready insights.
  • Act as a financial business partner to operations, engineering, maintenance, and procurement teams, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and strengthening cost control and reporting practices.
