About The Position

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Analyst to support manufacturing operations at Titan Homes’ manufacturing facility in Sangerfield, New York. The role analyzes product and manufacturing costs, monitors cost variances, supports inventory valuation, and provides financial insight to help operations and management improve profitability and control costs. The Cost Analyst works collaboratively with Accounting, Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and other operational teams. The position is classified as non-exempt. A background check and drug screen are required.

Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of accounting and financial analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including high-level proficiency with Excel.
Strong math skills and the ability to solve complex calculations.
Close attention to detail.

Experience with Navision and Oracle.

Responsibilities

Analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
Maintain and analyze standard costs and compare them with actual manufacturing results.
Investigate and explain material, labor, overhead, purchase-price, and other manufacturing variances.
Review bills of material (BOMs) and other cost components for accuracy and reasonableness.
Perform production-line audits to ensure BOM accuracy.
Support the monthly accounting close.
Prepare weekly and monthly cost and variance reports for management and operations.
Work with Production and Purchasing to identify causes of unfavorable cost trends and opportunities for improvement.
Analyze costs associated with new products, product changes, and manufacturing-process changes.
Assist with internal and external audit requests.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls, and cost-accounting processes.
