About The Position

This role provides support for costing processes within the Defence Industry. The Cost Analyst will oversee financials, and develop and manage costs for projects in line with the Target Cost Estimate (TCE) contract. The position involves regular support for upskilling, leading stakeholder engagement for the project, and ensuring accurate reporting of all financial information, including variance analysis reports. The role contributes to effective financial management of projects through cost control activities, assisting with the development and maintenance of project budgets, monitoring project accruals and commitments, and maintaining accurate resource and financial forecast data. A key responsibility is measuring the health of the program against cost and project budgets.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in either project management or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of cost management techniques.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management.
  • Knowledge of estimating.
  • Knowledge of quantity surveying.
  • Knowledge of quantitative risk analysis.
  • Previous experience in a matrix environment in cost estimating, cost engineering, or project controls.
  • Experience with projects of a variety of products and services across all lifecycle phases.
  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
  • Current AU Drivers Licence.
