About The Position

EPMA is seeking a Cost Analyst to join our IT Projects team. This role is responsible for building and maintaining detailed project cost plans, tracking actuals against budget, preparing forecasts, and performing variance analysis. The Cost Analyst will partner with Project Managers and Scrum Masters to align financials with delivery plans, review vendor invoices and statements of work, and support IT procurement. Compliance with financial controls and governance, support for audits, and project closeout are also key responsibilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • 3 to 6 years experience in project cost controls, financial analysis, or IT project environments
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, financial modeling, and advanced formulas
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of IT cost drivers including labor, software and SaaS licensing, and cloud and infrastructure costs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP and IBM Cognos TM1
  • Exposure to IT portfolio or demand management
  • Background in PMO or IT Finance environments

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed project cost plans including labor, software, hardware, cloud, and vendor costs
  • Track actuals against budget and forecast and monitor burn rates
  • Prepare Estimate at Completion (EAC) and portfolio-level forecasts
  • Perform variance analysis with clear root-cause insights
  • Evaluate financial impact of scope changes and re-baselines
  • Partner with Project Managers and Scrum Masters to align financials with delivery plans
  • Review and validate vendor invoices, statements of work, and purchase orders
  • Track vendor spend and ensure alignment with contract terms
  • Support IT procurement including SaaS, cloud, and consulting
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and governance
  • Support audits and maintain financial traceability
  • Assist with project closeout and cost reconciliation
