About The Position

This role is responsible for various accounting duties including financial reporting, standard costing, inventory analytics, and assisting with audits. The Cost Accountant will independently create financial statements, analyze gross profit, and maintain general ledger reconciliations. Key responsibilities also include calculating product standard costs, analyzing production variances, and managing Activity Based Costing (ABC/M) models for SG&A expenses. The position also involves tracking capital assets, calculating depreciation, and performing gainshare calculations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • Demonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s in Accounting preferred
  • CPA/CMA not required but preferred
  • Knowledge of AX operating system (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Create consolidated and individual subsidiary financial statements and supporting reports.
  • Share in monthly financial statement review and analysis.
  • Directly responsible for Gross Profit analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with subsidiary financial narratives.
  • Maintain assigned general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Assist with external Audit coordination, maintaining cash receipt/disbursement and inventory.
  • Assist with coordinating and maintaining audit schedules.
  • Calculate product standard costs.
  • Analyze variances from standard.
  • Analyze inventory balances and transactions.
  • Calculate financial valuation of inventory.
  • Perform detailed analytics of production variances, bills of materials, routes, cost categories and costing sheet.
  • Calculate and analyze GAAP inventory reporting in various methods including Lifo, Fifo and weighted average.
  • Act as a member of the ABC/M team, focusing on SG & A.
  • Maintain associated ABC models.
  • Ensure timely completion of related ABC/M profitability reports and analysis.
  • Assist in performing daily banking activities.
  • Track Capital Asset expenditures and calculate depreciation/amortization.
  • Perform Gainshare monthly and weekly calculations.
  • Perform any other duties, related in nature, which may be assigned.
