About The Position

The Cost Accountant supports construction project accounting by overseeing contract closeout and coordinating between Project Management and Accounting. The role assists with project cost and billing activities, subcontractor documentation, monthly projections, and job-cost updates. The position is not eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the U.S. without further visa sponsorship.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
3–5 years of construction accounting, job-cost, and contract experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Superior attention to detail.
Self-motivation and a strong ability to follow through.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Nice To Haves

Experience with ERP systems such as Viewpoint (Vista).

Responsibilities

Oversee the contract closeout process and act as a liaison between Project Management and Accounting to ensure timely completion.
Assist Project Managers with realignment of the Schedule of Values.
Assist with certified payroll, EEO, and OCI reporting for subcontractors, as well as customer labor-rate breakdowns.
Coordinate monthly projection meetings with the Assistant Controller and assist with Over/Under and Work in Progress (WIP) reporting.
Track quoted pending extras and items with no purchase orders.
Review and distribute subcontractor invoices for Project Manager approval, and support vendor invoice processing and customer billing as needed.
Update job cost as required through direct cost entries.
