The Cost Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting functions of the operations organization. This role involves developing and analyzing cost standards for manufactured goods and inputs, completing the month-end close process, and preparing general ledger account analysis. The position also requires preparing and maintaining various account roll forwards and assisting with operations-related analysis, including production KPIs, COGS analysis, margin analysis, ROI calculations, and capacity utilization. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for posting accounting journal entries, creating, analyzing, and posting month-end accruals, and identifying and implementing process improvements to accelerate the close timeline while maintaining accuracy. Additionally, the role involves performing account reconciliations and analysis, maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts, assisting with audit reports, serving as a liaison between Operations and accounting for fixed asset transactions, and assisting with plant capex reporting. The Cost Accountant will also complete special projects and assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
