About The Position

Flex is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their Finance team in Henrico, VA. This role will involve preparing and maintaining accounting records, researching and interpreting accounting data to provide advice or prepare statements. The position will initially support Flex and may transition to support Axiom (formerly SpinCo) after a planned spin-off in Q1 2027. Axiom will focus on critical digital infrastructure, including power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and mission-critical applications.

Requirements

Typically requires a B. Com / B.C. S / M. Com / MBA /BBA/ BBM, any other commerce and Accounts Stream degrees.
Typically requires 5-6 years of related experience.

Nice To Haves

A professional certification is preferred - A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), America Production Inventory Control Society (APICS), Chartered Accountant (CA), or a Certified General Accountant (CGA).

Responsibilities

Perform periodic review of Profit and Loss (P&L) accounts to ensure postings align with defined policies, processes, and procedures.
Compare actual financial results with forecasts/quotes, research variances, and ensure necessary adjustments are made.
Collect and report business reasons for remaining variances.
Reconcile scoped Balance Sheet accounts with sub-ledgers/manual schedules, identify variances, and ensure they are properly handled.
Periodically review accounts to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Plan and execute book close and reporting activities accurately and on time.
Collaborate with relevant teams to prepare forecasts and budgets for related accounts.
Work with the Operations team to improve business and operational metrics.
Ensure familiarity with relevant Accounting, regulatory, and reporting requirements in the Controllers Handbook and RCTS.
