About The Position

The accounting job family is responsible for maintaining Cavco’s financial books and records accurately and on time, including the chart of accounts, general ledger, and subsidiary ledgers. The group processes accounts receivable and accounts payable, maintains authorized-vendor lists, and works with external auditors and financial reporting to support GAAP and SEC compliance.

The role supports plant operations through transactional accounting processing and coordination of operational initiatives. It works independently to execute process steps, conduct analysis, solve problems, and deliver recommendations. The position provides detailed cost information using cost-accounting principles and supports the General Manager as required.

Requirements

• Associate degree required.
• Four years of directly related experience.
• Medium-level Excel skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to deal with all levels of management.
• Team player.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous accounting experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems, applying cost-accounting principles.
• Plan studies and gather data to determine costs of business activities, including raw-material purchases, inventory, and labor.
• Analyze data and document results.
• Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine their effects on costs.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs with actual production costs.
• Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting product or service prices and profitability.
• Perform other support duties for the General Manager as required.
