About The Position

The Manufacturing Cost Accountant is responsible for the costing and controlling function for a product line at Measurement Systems. The role provides a monthly operational reporting package and analysis of sales, material, labor, and overhead costs, including variance analysis and profit contribution. It also covers inventory and work-order control and SOX compliance. The position is onsite in Poestenkill, New York, and requires international travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Seven years of experience with costing and cost controlling, with an accounting background in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with the Syspro ERP system.
• Strong analytical and financial-modeling skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis to drive profitability and efficiency.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling, data analysis, and report preparation.
• International travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage product and project costing, costing parameters, and profitability.
• Prepare the monthly reporting package, gross-margin reconciliations, and cost-variance analysis.
• Manage inventory and work-order valuation, control, reserves, and physical counts.
• Support audits and reviews, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
• Support management with project profitability, actual-cost analysis, and cost-saving programs.
