The Cost Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting functions of the operations organization. This role involves developing and analyzing cost standards for manufactured goods and inputs, completing the month-end close process, and preparing general ledger account analysis. The position also requires preparing and maintaining various account roll forwards, assisting with operations-related analysis (including production KPIs, COGS analysis, margin analysis, ROI calculations, and capacity utilization), and posting relevant accounting journal entries. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the creation, analysis, and posting of month-end accruals, identifying and implementing process improvements in the month-end close process to accelerate the timeline while maintaining accuracy, and performing account reconciliations and analysis. This role will also maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, assist with audit reports and inquiries, and serve as a liaison between Operations and accounting for fixed asset transactions. Additionally, the Cost Accountant will assist with company plant capex reporting requirements, complete special projects, verify transaction compliance with financial policies, and assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
