About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to support financial operations at our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, maintaining accurate inventory and standard costing, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with operations to improve plant performance and profitability. This role is also responsible for planning and controlling tooling projects with a strong focus on cost tracking, financial transparency, and budget adherence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of standard costing and inventory accounting
  • Experience with ERP systems (IQMS, Epicor, LN, Syteline) preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and support growth and profitability projects related to existing and new business and validate results for all productivity projects
  • Manage and track tooling projects cost and provide financial transparency related to tooling
  • Prepare monthly margin analysis and variance reports (product, customer, product group) and provide insight to business partners regarding product line and customer profitability
  • Provide timely, relevant variance analysis to sales & operations to drive committed results
  • Prepare and analyze manufacturing variance reports
  • Analyze production data, labor utilization, scrap, and efficiency metrics
  • Assist with product pricing process and calculate price updates on monthly and quarterly escalator/de-escalator contracts
  • Update Bills of Material
  • Support month-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead
  • Support physical inventory counts and audits
  • Monitor inventory transactions and ensure inventory accuracy, and perform monthly inventory reconciliations and cycle count analysis
  • Partner with operations leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
  • Capital asset tracking and summarization
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Prepare ad hoc financial and operational analysis as needed
  • Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization and in particular, your area of responsibility.
  • Ensuring that the integrity of the quality management system is maintained when changes to the quality management system are planned and implemented.
  • Ensuring that the processes are delivering their intended outputs
