About The Position
We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting cost information, maintaining BOMs, and analyzing cost data to ensure accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities. This role requires a thorough understanding of the construction and manufactured homes business, along with strong analytical and time management skills.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role
- Thorough knowledge of construction
- In-depth understanding of manufactured homes business
- Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Strong time management skills
- Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
Responsibilities
- Collect cost information and maintain BOMs
- Maintain proper cost percentage by recommending required price changes
- Determine fixed costs (e.g. Model requirements, Mandatory options)
- Plan for and record variable costs (e.g. raw material and labor costs)
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
- Analyze and report BOM margins
- Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts
- Assisting in month-end and quarter-end inventory
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions
