The Cosmetologist role provides cosmetology and barbering services to residents of the transitional care facility, helping patients feel presentable, comfortable, and more like themselves.

Requirements

Licensed in the state of Idaho as a beautician, barber, or cosmetologist
High school diploma or GED is preferred
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills in the English language
Basic computer skills
Facilitation skills to work cooperatively with staff, patients, and others
Regular and predictable attendance is required
Regularly required to sit, bend, stoop, and stretch
Required to perform essential functions that necessitate eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
Normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports
Occasionally requires lifting supplies up to 25 pounds and lifting up to 100 pounds for transferring patients
Must comply with HIPAA to protect information that is sensitive, proprietary, or confidential
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain infection control standards set by the facility

Responsibilities

Performing hair style consultations with patients to determine the patients’ desired outcomes
Serving a range of age, wellness, and ability demographics, accommodating communication accordingly
Shampooing, cutting, styling, and coloring hair and performing barbering services
Completing annual competencies to maintain skills and quality of care
Attending staff meetings and any other required meetings
Maintaining cleanliness in the facility and keeping required safety standards
