About The Position

Immediate opening for a contracted stylist who is skilled in all types of haircuts and styles, including face and neck shaves, for men and women. This is a full-time position requiring salon and hospital ward service. The role is independently owned and operated by the stylist, with work expected 2-3 times a week.

Requirements

• Commitment to providing an excellent guest experience.
• A valid barber/cosmetology license.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Possess or obtain liability insurance in the amount of $1 Million.
• Comfortable approach to working in an exciting fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality.
• Ability to listen to guest needs and communicate clearly.
• Professional, friendly, self-motivated barber.
• A current, valid REAL ID is required to work at Veterans Canteen Service.
• Two primary forms of identification will be required (e.g., U.S. passport, Permanent resident card, Foreign passport, Employment authorization document with a photo, State-issued, Real ID-compliant driver’s license or ID card, U.S. military ID card, U.S. military dependent’s ID card, PIV card).
• Resumes cannot exceed 2 pages in length.
• Must serve a 1-year probationary period.
• Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required.
• Must receive the annual seasonal influenza vaccination or obtain an exemption for medical or religious reasons.
