About The Position
The Hair Stylist Apprentice role at FS Cut & Color is an opportunity for cosmetology students to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive salon environment while preparing for licensure. Apprentices will work closely with salon leadership and experienced, licensed professionals, assisting the salon team and supporting services as permitted by state law. The role focuses on education, teamwork, and growth, developing professional habits, practicing guest consultation and hospitality, recommending professional hair care products, and learning to build a guest base. A key part of the apprenticeship is active participation in the FS Cut & Color Pro Lab, a structured training program combining in-salon learning, mentorship, at-home study, and certification to prepare for real-world demands. This apprenticeship is designed to help motivated cosmetology students confidently transition into a licensed stylist role and build a long-term career with FS Cut & Color.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in cosmetology school
- 90% or higher attendance (verifiable)
- B or higher GPA (verifiable)
- Ability to perform services permitted by law prior to licensure
- Employment as a licensed stylist begins only after passing state board exams and receiving a Cosmetology License (CL)
