About The Position

This position will be responsible for identifying eligible students to participate in the program, will do advising and programming for student participants as outlined in the grant agreement, and ensure the students have the access and resources needed to complete their undergraduate degree. The grant aims to serve 150 students per academic year. This position is funded by the COSI grant and is a 4-year renewable grant; continuation of the position is dependent on grant renewal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams
  • 1 year work experience in an educational setting
  • 1 year data tracking and reporting experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment and with varying populations of students
  • Experience advising at an institution of higher education with a COSI program.
  • Experience with Family, Educational Rights and Privacy Act
  • Experience in collecting, managing, maintaining, and reporting a high volume of data

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, plan, and facilitate workshops that meet the holistic support services program requirements.
  • Schedule, plan, and provide one-on-one check in appointments with COSI student caseload.
  • Provide opportunities for peer-to-peer interaction with other COSI scholars, community building, and connecting with campus staff/faculty.
  • Attend all required COSI trainings and support sessions including the annual symposium.
  • Recruit students into the COSI program, review all student applications.
  • Reach out to potential students by phone, email, mailing and in person recruitment events.
  • Retain a cohort of 150 students each academic year to meet programmatic goals.
  • Coordinate with Institutional Research and other programs on campus to identify eligible students for the program.
  • Work with the academic departments on campus to ensure students are registered each semester and are completing requirements towards degree completion.
  • Work with faculty and staff from appropriate offices to ensure that academic problems experienced by the caseload of students are satisfactorily resolved.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed contact notes and track student performance using digital application forms, dashboards, and local databases and follow up as necessary to support student success.
  • Maintain reports/spreadsheets for scholars academic success and progress towards graduation.
  • Work with the grant accountant and program manager on the budget.
  • Track all spending and purchases.
  • Responsible for submitting all scholarship awards to the student financial services team.
  • Responsible for submitting all COSI annual, monthly, quarterly and reimbursement reporting.
  • Communicate with COSI federal program manager and COSI program manager.
  • Participates in Division and University affairs, at Pueblo or satellite or system location to enhance the assigned programs’ performance and quality.
  • Works to meet expectations of the university’s mission and vision.
