About The Position

Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the transfer car. This includes delivering stock to machines, maintaining storage areas, completing paperwork, and adhering to the production schedule. The role requires the ability to read and follow instructions, perform mathematical calculations, and understand equipment capabilities and product specifications.

Requirements

Must be qualified to properly operate the transfer car.
Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
Able to apply concepts of high school math.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
Working knowledge of product layouts and production specifications.
Working knowledge of product quality specifications.
Working knowledge of quality standards.
Required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
Prior work experience as a forklift operator.

Responsibilities

Operate and care for the transfer car in a safe manner.
Complete and document a transfer car inspection form before the start of each shift.
Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.
Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.
Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
Adhere to the daily production schedule.
Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
