About The Position

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Corrugator Supervisor to provide dynamic leadership over their corrugated converting operations at their Winston Salem facility. This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the corrugator production line during the second shift. The supervisor will manage a team of operators, maintenance, and shipping personnel to ensure consistent product quality, meet production targets, and minimize downtime. Key responsibilities include implementing and enforcing safety protocols, troubleshooting operational issues, and coordinating with other departments to optimize workflow. The role is essential in driving continuous improvement initiatives and sustaining high levels of operational excellence within the corrugator department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corrugator operations or a related manufacturing environment.
  • At least 4 years in a supervisory position in a production setting.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality control procedures in manufacturing.
  • Ability to work the 3rd shift schedule consistently.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in manufacturing, industrial technology, or related field.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with corrugator machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous experience working in non-durable goods manufacturing - Corrugated industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the corrugator production team during the 3rd shift, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal line efficiency.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule and oversee preventive maintenance and timely repairs of corrugator equipment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate production goals, safety updates, and performance feedback.
  • Maintain accurate production records, report shift performance metrics, and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and environmental standards.
