About The Position

This role is part of the production crew with a main focus on preparing the machine for the production run, according to the customer order. The operator is responsible for cleaning the machine daily, ordering pads from the Forklift Driver as needed, and ensuring pads are at the machine for finished products. They will assist with running orders by monitoring for smooth operation and notifying the operator of any issues such as machine failure, quality problems, or paper shortages. This role may also involve preparing the product for shipping and occasionally feeding the machine. The operator will work with various production machines and basic tools.

Requirements

High School Graduate or GED.
Verifiable work history for past 12 months.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, such as schedules and orders.
Must be willing to work overtime on short notice, including weekends.
Ability to work in manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy Forklift traffic.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

1 + year of experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Prepares the machine for the production run according to the customer order.
Cleans the machine daily.
Orders pads from the Forklift Driver according to the need expressed on the schedule.
Responsible for having pads at the machine for the finished products.
Assists with running orders by watching the run continue smoothly and without problem.
Notifies the operator of any problems such as machine failure, product quality not to standard, or a shortage of paper.
May need to work with management, maintenance, and other company employees to fix the problem.
Prepares the product according to the shop card and/or in a manner suitable for shipping.
May be required to feed the machine on occasion.
Works with various production machines and basic tools.
