The Corrugator Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for observing mechanical devices in operation, listening to their sounds to locate causes of trouble, and dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. This role involves inspecting used parts, adjusting functional parts, repairing or replacing defective parts, and installing special functional and structural parts. The mechanic will also lubricate and clean parts, test device performance, and use metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Additionally, this role initiates purchase requests for parts and machines and repairs electrical equipment. The position requires a High School diploma or GED, proficient math and English skills, and demonstrated competence in secretarial skills. A minimum of 1-2 years of related experience and knowledge is required. Candidates must possess their own tools.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Proficient Math and English skills
  • Demonstrated competence in secretarial skills (typing, computer, word processor, copier, facsimile machine and general clerical)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience and knowledge
  • Candidates should have their own tools.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to operate various office machines and computers.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual preferred, but not required (ability to speak Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Initiates purchase request for parts and machines.
  • Repairs electrical equipment.
  • Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
