About The Position

This position involves protecting critical infrastructure by monitoring, testing, and maintaining corrosion control systems. Depending on experience level, responsibilities can range from assisting with basic field testing to leading advanced inspections, troubleshooting, and program management. The role requires fieldwork, extensive travel for assignments lasting multiple weeks at a time, and working outdoors in varying conditions. Daily per diem and hotel accommodations are provided during travel.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to handle tools and equipment, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outside and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, such as trenches, pits, and manholes.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps and ladders regularly.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, or drive for long periods of time (1-3 hours).
  • Must be able to see, hear, and respond quickly to dangerous situations.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors, including in extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be comfortable around moving machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
  • Must be comfortable wearing personal protective gear while working (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, safety vest, FRCs).
  • Ability to adhere to OSHA and site-specific PPE and safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or certification in corrosion technology, materials science, or a related field
  • Experience performing corrosion inspections and using testing equipment
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as API and AMPP
  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with corrosion monitoring software and digital data collection.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections to identify corrosion and material degradation.
  • Conduct testing such as ultrasonic thickness measurements, coating inspections, and corrosion rate analysis.
  • Collect and document field data; prepare clear and accurate reports.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing and monitoring equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with SAFETY protocols and company policies.
