Performs an advanced level of activities involved in the design and maintenance of corrosion control systems. This role provides advanced level of support with installation, maintenance, and monitoring of corrosion control systems, including Non-Destructive Testing on facilities. The technician will install, test, adjust, and/or repair rectifiers, anodes, and test points, troubleshoot and repair interference/foreign contact problems, and perform continuity tests and soil resistivity surveys. Additionally, the role involves inspecting, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing cathodic protection tools and equipment, as well as driving and ensuring maintenance of company vehicles. The technician is responsible for completing and updating various reports and documents, compiling and verifying financial information, and measuring internal, external, and atmospheric corrosion per industry standards. This position is also responsible for conducting environmental activities as specified and may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions. Job duties require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions where impaired performance or failure to follow safety precautions could result in serious injury or property damage.
