Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com. We are currently looking for a Corrosion Specialist/Sr. Corrosion Specialist for our Midland, KY office. This position manages day-to-day corrosion control activities for an assigned area, including all aspects of cathodic protection, data collection, analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions and repairs. Responsibilities include maintaining computerized corrosion and compliance documentation, ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory agency requirements, and managing the data necessary to support effective corrosion control programs. The role also involves proactively identifying corrosion risks and developing alternative or optimized solutions in coordination with the Regional Corrosion Leader. In addition, the position is responsible for successfully completing all Operator Qualification (OQ) tasks assigned to the Corrosion program, as well as selected OQ tasks related to pipeline operations and maintenance procedures. In addition, this position will continually research the new technologies and best practices in the industry to be able to provide increasing efficiency to our business. This position will provide a representative view of the current corrosion scenario to the appropriate asset owners on a regular basis. Must be able to explain and Inspect construction corrosion related projects within area and may occasionally assist other areas.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet in order to transfer tools and equipment.
  • Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns.
  • Ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle.
  • Strong commitment to Personal and Team safety.
  • Must live within 30 miles of facility.
  • Must report to the Midland location and reside within 30 miles of that location.
