About The Position

This is an entry level position conducting corrosion inspections. As a Corrosion Safety Inspector, you will be responsible for gaining access to the utility customer’s gas services for routine, scheduled inspections. All reports and findings are to be documented in accordance with the safety and performance standards specified during training. Every inspection is to be performed with the utmost integrity while maintaining personal professionalism. Safety is the number one priority, and our goal is to protect life and property.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Outlook
  • Ability to use smart phones and navigate apps.
  • Possess & maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must complete qualification training-consists of 4-5 days of classroom and hands-on training.
  • Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements. Ability to load, carry, lift, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required. Must have the ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle.
  • Complies with all safety rules and regulations set forth by PPS
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record

  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Perform periodic corrosion inspections on gas associated piping and meters
  • Perform periodic facility inspections and surveys on utility-owned gas meters for a local utility company
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately
  • Ensure readings and records are following all company and regulatory requirements
  • Support the successful completion of regulatory audits and inspections
  • Integrity surveys, which include direct assessments and close interval surveys
  • Perform audit reviews with operations and support them during audits.
  • Required to work in all types of weather, poorly maintained basements, and locations.
  • Laborious activities include walking stairs, working in crawl spaces, extensive reaching and use of ladders.
  • Ability to always assess surroundings for safety.
  • Communicate with clients and customers in a professional manner.
  • Pay close attention to detail.
  • Conduct oneself with integrity and maintain accountability which includes being punctual and maintaining a consistent attendance.
  • Always follow safety procedures and protocol.
  • Must be adaptable and communicate well with clients and customers
  • Ability to work in a team setting and as an individual with supervision
  • Demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to be accountable and be on time and maintain attendance
  • Complete all documentation of records accurately and legibly.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to walk between 1 to 3miles each day
  • Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements. Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required. Complies with all safety rules and regulations set forth by PPS
  • Willing to submit to drug testing including THC as we are a federally mandated employer
