About The Position

Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, and performs preventive maintenance on utilities, electrical and mechanical equipment, and other building components throughout the facility. Performs assorted functions generally associated with maintenance operations. May be required to mow, rake, trim shrubbery, or perform other groundskeeping functions. Responds to and assists in security events according to policy. The role involves frequent contact with visitors, patients, and other employees and requires average tact and poise. The employee must be able to work without direct supervision and initiate appropriate repair functions. Accuracy in work performed and maintenance documentation is necessary, along with considerable initiative and judgment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least four years of experience in one or more of the following trades: heating, air conditioning, electrical installation and maintenance, hospital maintenance, electronics, biomedical repair, refrigeration, plumbing and heating, or commercial construction.
• Good verbal skills.
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft computer software.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license and ability to be insured by the facility's insurance carrier.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and initiate appropriate repair functions.
• Accuracy in work performed and documentation, with initiative and judgment.

Nice To Haves

• Preventive maintenance experience is useful and preferable.
