Responsible for supervising inmates and providing care, safety, and security while maintaining rules, regulations, and cleanliness of the Williamson County Jail. This is an armed assignment. The role involves maintaining security of correctional and courthouse facilities, receiving and booking inmates, conducting searches, supervising inmate activities, transporting inmates, serving warrants, responding to emergencies, and maintaining TCOLE licensing requirements and physical fitness. A Bailiff assignment includes conducting screens and searches at court entrances, ensuring the safety of judges and court personnel, maintaining security during court proceedings, making arrests in court, transporting inmates and arrested individuals, and guarding jury members when necessary. The position operates within a maximum security facility and may involve exposure to individuals accused or convicted of crimes, those with potential illness, and biohazards. Outdoor work in inclement weather may be required. Irregular hours outside of normal office hours may be required, and employees may be deemed essential personnel during emergencies.
