About The Position

This position monitors residents during an assigned shift to ensure accountability, safety, security, and compliance with facility rules. The Corrections Monitor observes client behavior and serves as a liaison between clients and counselors, administers drug and alcohol testing as required, and maintains accurate, complete logs for residents and the facility. The role is located at the FLA-Ft Myers Federal Pre Release facility in Ft Myers, Florida, and has a 40-hour schedule. The position requires frequent changes between sitting, standing, and walking, generally within the same building. Limited physical effort involving walking, standing, lifting, and carrying objects weighing less than 25 pounds is required for 5–10% of work time.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and one year of experience performing security work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a valid state driver's license.
